Philippe Soirat est né en 1961 à Menton. Après des débuts en autodidacte, il étudie au conservatoire de Monaco et au Centre musical contemporain de Nice. Il s’installe à Paris en 1986 et fréquente l’école informelle du jazz faite de rencontres et d’expériences entre musiciens. Très vite les concerts se multiplient et il accompagne la plupart des musiciens de la scène française et internationale tels que Barney Wilen, Ricky Ford, Lee Konitz, Yannick Rieu, Lionel et Stéphane Belmondo, Lou Donaldson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ray Brown, Laurent de Wilde, Johnny Griffin, Mark Turner, Phil Woods ou Steve Grossman.

Philippe Soirat is born in Menton in 1961. After self-taught beginnings he studied at both the Monaco Conservatory and the Nice Contemporary Music Center. He settled in Paris in 1986 and moved in the informal jazz school made up of meeting and experiments among musicians. Concerts came thick and fast and he has accompanied most musicians on the french and international jazz scene, such as Barney Wilen, Ricky Ford, Lee Konitz, Yannick Rieu, Lionel et Stéphane Belmondo, Lou Donaldson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ray Brown, Laurent DeWilde, Jonny Griffin, Mark Turner, Phil Woods, Steve Grossman...


Sa discographie compte à ce jour plus de soixante dix albums enregistrés avec Barry Harris, Yannick Rieu, Gordon Beck, Lenny Popkin, Ricky Ford, Les frères Belmondo, Laurent Coq, Ted Curson, Christophe Dal Sasso, Georges Cables, Laurent Fickelson, François Théberge, Barney Wilen, Samy Thiébault, Hervé Sellin, Jacques Vidal etc... ainsi que trois disques de son quartet.
